Candle of hope

20 To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:20–21 — English Standard Version (ESV)

Evil, like a candle ignited by the malevolence of the world around it, casts a dark shadow that threatens to engulf all in its path. The virtuous deeds we strive to perform, no matter how noble, often find themselves in a precarious position as they are poised to be consumed by the insidious fire of malice that surrounds them. Yet, in this fragile existence of waning light and forgotten promises, there exists a glimmer of hope—a beacon of kindness that transcends the darkness. Your acts of compassion and generosity act as a counterforce to the cold grip of evil, radiating a warmth that reaches beyond mere physical comfort. This warmth, this glow of empathy and understanding, becomes a sanctuary for those lost in the wilderness of hate and cruelty. It offers solace in a world ravaged by apathy and greed, a symbol of resilience against the storm of iniquity. Your kindness, like a flame that burns steady and true, shines brightly in the night, guiding those who have lost their way back to the path of righteousness and love. It is a testament to the enduring power of the human spirit to overcome adversity and spread the light of hope in even the darkest of times.
